We are saddened to hear that Ohioans for Medical Marijuana decided to suspend it's campaign. After the historic decision by the Statehouse to approve a medical marijuana program for our state, many advocates rightly believe it does not go far enough for Ohio's patients.
We are overwhelmed in disappointment that Ohioans will not have a vote in 2016 on a ballot initiative that provides more comprehensive access than House Bill 523 offers.
We cannot let this news hold us back on continuing to fight for Ohio's patients. We cannot underestimate the importance of working with legislators and regulators to make our medical marijuana program the best it can be.
Our work starts again next week.
We may not have home grow. We may be missing important delivery forms. We may not have a robust enough list of qualifying conditions. But we no longer have a state without a medical marijuana program. And that's more than we had last week. It's time to do everything we can to continue to move Ohio forward.
We hope you'll join us. #PatientsFirst
