A New Party.
A New Politics.
Ohio’s Future.
Ohio deserves a political home that isn’t trapped in last century’s battles, a party free from institutional corruption, that puts people and community front and center. We’re building it now.

Problem-solving
We are focused on solving real problems in Ohio. Bringing new ideas and putting forth the best. We aren’t afraid to learn and change our minds.
All of Ohio
From Lake Erie to the Ohio River. Rustbelt to rural. College towns and Appalachian Ohio. We are for all of it. A new party can compete everywhere, and we will.
Integrity
A political culture that rewards conflict instead of solutions has failed Ohio. We are building something different. We will root out corruption and elect honest members of the community.
The two-party system isn’t working for Ohio.
Nearly 6 million registered Ohio voters — 70% — are unaffiliated with either major party. Nationally, 45% of Americans identify as independent. Support for the existing parties is at record lows: just 32% of Americans have a favorable view of the Republican Party and 28% have a favorable view of the Democratic Party.
The cost of living is skyrocketing as people struggle to afford housing, food, education, and healthcare. Our cities and our roads are falling apart. Young Ohioans are leaving the state for better opportunities elsewhere. We are falling behind.
Ohioans are tired of rampant corruption in government and a political culture that rewards conflict and theater instead of solutions and progress.
“We believe in the dream of America. A nation of liberty, opportunity, democracy, pluralism, and the rule of law. We are reclaiming the spirit of 1776.”— Ohio United Party founding statement
We need a new party in America and we need it now. The Ohio United Party is building a movement to unite Ohioans across the political spectrum, to bring forward new ideas, and to put an end to a culture of decay, corruption, and apathy.
We’re here to deliver.
A party of the people.
This party is grassroots, decentralized, and democratic. Decisions flow up from members embedded in the communities we seek to serve and not from party insiders and special interests. We are building a party that is responsive, transparent, and accountable to the people who power it.
Building toward 2028. Starting today.
To become an official political party in Ohio, we need valid signatures equal to 1% of the vote in the last election for governor or president. For 2026 this means 58,000 signatures. This is achievable, recent petitioning drives in Ohio have collected more with fewer resources and less time. It’s a longshot but it can be done. But we aren’t banking on it.
We are collecting signatures right now with two parallel plans in mind. If we can collect the signatures by July for a new party this year, we’ll work to field a full slate of candidates. But if we fall short, all signatures collected so far contribute to our 2028 ballot drive. 2026 is the stretch goal, 2028 is the guarantee.
Launch & organize
Organize our teams. Launch petitioning. Begin recruiting candidates.
First filing deadline
Submit 57,679 signatures for ballot access. If we achieve this, the 2026 election becomes a historic opportunity. If we fall short we keep collecting.
Statewide convention
Adopt bylaws. Elect the first Central Committee. Nominate candidates. This is where we declare our independence — celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.
2026 Elections
Support endorsed or affiliated candidates. While recruiting and growing for the future
Local Elections
Adopt bylaws. Recruit and support candidates for local elections. Grow the party and build coalitions with like minded parties across the country.
The primary objective
A fully formed United Party for Ohio ready to compete at all levels. A 50-state coalition of aligned new parties offers the American people a real choice for the first time in decades and a 50 state presidential primary for a new party. Either way, we are building toward recognition. Either way, we are not stopping.
250 years after independence — we declare ours.
In summer 2026 aligned with the, 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we will hold our first statewide convention. Members will adopt the party’s bylaws, elect the first Central Committee, and nominate candidates for 2026.
This is where we declare our independence.
If we have ballot access in 2026, we have a historic opportunity to place a true unity ticket on the ballot — one that can WIN the governorship against historically unpopular Democratic and Republican candidates.
Minor Party Formation rules in Ohio allow us to place hundreds of candidates on the ballot as late as July under one common banner. In one single election, we get to change the course of the state and the country and reclaim our future for the people of Ohio. A new party nullifies the effects of gerrymandering, making every election competitive. We can compete everywhere and bring to Ohio an accountable, representative government trifecta for the first time in decades.
At the Federal level, 15 United Party Congressional candidates could control the balance of power in Congress. Forming a solid block for other independents to join with. Taking back control, breaking the gridlock, and reclaiming Congress’s role as a Check and Balance on the other branches.
